Letters to the Editor
by Our ReadersAn Open Letter to Area Business Owners
If you do not have an ad on these pages I have a question for you. Why not?
Neighbors is a unique publication. A portion of every issue is devoted to press releases from local organizations which appear in many publications. But more importantly, we publish articles, photos, columns and opinions that will appear nowhere else. The paper has a great calendar section. And we do this as a true community newspaper. The percentage of each issue devoted to advertising is small. Our ad rates are ridiculously low. We can put your business on our website and link to your website.
We will soon begin our fifth year of continuous publication. We are in over 160 locations. We are now in color. Over 6,000 copies are reader circulated every month. I have believed from day one a quality, vital publication can successfully circulate itself. It is happening, slowly but surely. Join us.
You can make this paper and our community better. We can show the community that you are a business person that deserves our support and respect.

Dizzy and Bubba
By Karen King
Dizzy and Bubba, Bubba and Dizzy. You say, “What does this mean?” Well let me tell you…These were the names of the two furry creatures that spent the better part of 5 years in the King household. Who would of thought that the 1.5-2.5 lb critters could have touched the hearts so completely of the people who lived here (Ian, Tom, Karen).Touch us they did in so many ways. We played with them, cleaned up after them, a lot, and nursed them when they were ill. I wouldn’t have given up the experience. I remember the day my son Ian leaned his head out the window as I came up the driveway and said “Hi Grandma”. I said, “What are you talking about?” I came up the stairs to see a little furry creature in his arms. I have to admit in the beginning I was a little afraid of Dizzy, afraid of getting bitten. Soon I found my fears were unfounded. Well time went by and our other son, Noah, had a friend who had a pet that needed a home because she already had two. I said, “Ask Dad” thinking that he would say ‘no,’ but to my amazement he said “We’ll give it a week.” I thought “Oh no, we have ourselves a second one.” It didn’t take long at all for ‘Bubba’ to capture our hearts completely. They enriched our lives for many years. Yes, Dizzy and Bubba, our ferrets, will be greatly missed! And now you know the rest of the story! All earth’s creatures are most precious!
